ER/EC cores have a cross section between E-shaped cores and pot-shaped cores, and are widely used in electronic circuits of  switching. The circular center column of the ER core can reduce the winding resistance. In addition, the space utilization and shielding performance of the ER core are higher than that of the planar core with the rectangular center column. Compared with the non-planar core, the ER core has a lower height and better heat resistance performance.
